The 2024 edition of Visions du Reel, a Swiss documentary film festival, launched 29 projects under its VdR Industries section. The selection of the films at various stages of production was made based on artistic potential, strong topics and international appeal. Sixteen selected films were invited by film professionals to pitch their ideas ShareFile VDR during the four-day VdR Pitching and VdR Work in Progress forums. This year two new cash awards were introduced. The Eurimages Coproduction Development Awards went to Mehran Tamadon’s “The Last Days of the Hospital”, directed by his (My Worst Enemy Bassidji). The Xe Award, accompanied with CHF $20,000. went to Salvatore of Lucan’s “Life of Tipu” The film is about an Irish-Bangladeshi artist who finds his father’s discord on Facebook and sets out on a journey to find him.
